Chapter 10, don't come out yet!

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

The green-eyed zombie curiously examined the furnishings in the room, occasionally leaning in for a closer look

Qiao Er did not know what it was doing, and inexplicably, she was bundled up in several pieces of cotton clothing. At this moment, it seemed that she resembled a zongzi even more than he did

Qiao Er felt somewhat guilty—she had never stolen anything in her life, nor had she ever spent stolen goods. However, the green-eyed zombie showed no signs of embarrassment; it placed the box of silver in front of the shopkeeper at the counter. The shopkeeper was dazzled by the sight and quickly took a small piece, instantly breaking into a broad smile: "What are you still standing there for? Hurry, help the two guests choose a room to rest!"

The green-eyed zombie waited for a while, seeing that she had no response and the waiter also showed no reaction. It could not ascertain what this meant, so it handed over some silver again—after observing for so long, it concluded that as long as there was money, everything could be accomplished.

She could no longer afford to take a bath, hastily dried herself off, changed her clothes, and used the dirty clothes to wipe the floor. The green-eyed zombie played in the bathtub for a while, then grew bored and also prepared to come out. Qiao'er panicked: "Wait, don't move yet!"

Qiao'er was so exhausted that she was drenched in sweat, but finally, she came up with a good solution

As it departed, the young waiter was taken aback. At first glance, he saw that it was poorly dressed, and his attitude had already soured by three points: "Get out, get out, you beggar, can't you see where you're going while asking for food?"

After talking for a long time, he finally remembered that this gentleman could not understand, so he hurriedly introduced Qiao'er again. Qiao'er felt a bit shy; she had never been to such places before. In the past, when she worked at Liu Yuanwai's residence, her tasks were merely washing clothes and mopping the floor, and for a moment, she truly did not know what to order.

The zombie looked around and gathered together several pieces of cotton clothing that she could no longer fit into. Qiao'er was quite puzzled. By the time dusk fell, she saw that the red-eyed zombie had already been waiting at the cave entrance.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she turned around, the green-eyed zombie attempted to leave. It seemed somewhat uneasy about leaving Qiao'er here, so it looked around and decided to casually absorb some wind dew or something similar on the rooftop.

Qiao Er took off all the cotton clothes she was wearing, yet she did not forget to gently educate it, saying, "It is said that stealing is wrong..." However, in this situation, she did not know what else to do, and she stopped her words.

The cave is certainly no longer a place to return to. It was only when it dropped Qiao'er to the ground that she could clearly see the small village before her. By this time, the sky had turned completely dark, and the road faintly revealed puddles left by the melting snow.

It moved at an astonishing speed, and in the blink of an eye, it had covered nearly 100 miles from the cave. Soaring into the sky, Qiao'er turned back to look in the direction from which it had come, faintly seeing the towering flames.

Before long, the shopkeeper brought hot water, which was poured into the bathtub. Qiao'er found it quite satisfactory. The cave had no hot water, and since the beginning of winter, she had seldom bathed, only able to wipe herself with clothes dampened with water

Qiao'er took a look and found that this smooth surface was not acceptable. She hurriedly grabbed it and took the clothes left in the cave before, wanting to put them on it. When it saw her shake out the clothes, it also took them and shook them.

Qiao Er is in a predicament

She took the towel prepared by the inn to wash its body. It was tall, and the bathtub was indeed very small for it, so it unhappily decided to climb out. Qiao'er had no choice but to hold onto it with great effort: "Don't come out yet!"

He kept chattering away, but the green-eyed zombie remained silent. In the end, it was Qiao'er who couldn't stand it any longer and waved her hand at him, saying, "Uh... I'm sorry, he doesn't understand."

It did not care (because it could not understand!), but Qiao'er was furious: "How can you speak like that https://wwwhetushucomcom!" Before the two could argue, it had already carried Qiao'er into the shop. The waiter hurriedly tried to stop it, but unexpectedly, when he pulled hard on its arm, it continued to carry Qiao'er steadily forward, leaving the waiter stumbling.

Certainly, climbing onto the roof is not considered a remarkable skill, but that inn has two stories, and it was ascended directly.

Bystander B: "Even Swallow Li San is likely to be left in the dust!"

On this day, after the heavy snow had just cleared, the sunlight shone through the mountains and forests, the snow reflecting the light, particularly dazzling. The green-eyed zombie unusually did not lie in the coffin; having spent a long time together, they had come to understand each other to some extent. Qiao'er felt that it seemed somewhat restless, as it actually put on all of Qiao'er's cotton clothes from the cave.

Qiao'er hurriedly ran in to grab it, but unexpectedly, someone nearby had already started speaking

Bystander C: "How many years of practice must it take to achieve such skill..."

The green-eyed zombie set Qiao'er down, looked around, and seemed dissatisfied. It gestured with an "ah ah" sound, mimicking the action of putting something into its mouth. The waiter was quick to understand this time: "Sir, are you looking for something to eat? No problem! Although our establishment is not a large place, we have all kinds of chicken, duck, fish, and meat. By the way, we also have aged Shaoxing rice wine. Would you like a jar?"

Indeed, as soon as the money was handed over, the waiter immediately bowed and said: "Oh dear guest, the most expensive banquet at our establishment is merely two taels of silver, and even with the addition of aged Huadiao wine, it would only amount to two taels and four qian. You have given too much..."

He dared not act arrogantly anymore. The green-eyed zombie often saw humans coming in; it knew that one could stay overnight inside and had secretly occupied an empty room before. At this moment, it did not walk directly inside but placed Qiao'er down in front of the counter. As it opened the box in its arms, the remaining words of the waiter were choked back. His face turned bright red; how could he have imagined that such a wealthy person could appear in such tattered clothing, leaving him both amused and bewildered

On both sides of the road, there are mottled mud-walled cottages as well as houses made of blue bricks and tiles. It carried Qiao'er for a while, skillfully leaping into a grand-looking residence, and then, quite familiar with the surroundings, jumped into a room inside through the window, where many boxes containing silver notes and silver ingots were displayed.

At this moment, the waiter finally came to his senses, leading the two into the room, and added a touch of warmth: "Dear guests, please do not take offense. In this small place, it is common for beggars to disturb patrons. I was indeed blind and mistook you for someone else. Please forgive my oversight. Moreover, in this cold winter, you are dressed so... uh... lightly. Could it be that you encountered some bandits on the way..."

He led the two of them into the room, and this time he was particularly attentive: "I am just downstairs; if you two need anything, feel free to call me, no need to be polite."

She found a piece of her own clothing and slowly put it on herself. Indeed, it imitated her by extending its hands into the sleeves, and the clothing was finally successfully worn. Qiao Er wiped her sweat and fastened the buttons for it, and next came the pants

Thus, it can be said that humans are actually a species with a very low awareness of danger, perhaps due to prolonged comfort, leading to a regression of instincts. In contrast, wild beasts, regardless of how they change, can always discern their natural enemies

The green-eyed zombie is precisely the type that pulls back while trying to advance; the more it is prevented from entering, the more it desires to do so. In the end, it finally made a strong push and squeezed into the bathtub, causing water to spill everywhere. Qiao'er, in a panic, quickly stood up and said: "I told you not to come in, and now it's all spilled out..."

That being said, he still dashed downstairs in a flash, presumably to prepare for it.

Ah?! The waiter draped the towel over his shoulder and suddenly realized: "So they are guests from out of town?" He thought to himself, could it be that the color of their pupils is different from ours? At that moment, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief—perhaps he had not understood the disrespectful words he had just spoken.

This is also simple, she still gave it a pair of pants, and then found a pair for herself. Indeed, as soon as she put it on, it also managed to wear it well. She tied its belt and dried its hair. Its hair had stopped growing, yet there was no sign of hair loss, cascading long over its shoulders, and surprisingly, the hair quality was quite good

Everyone was dumbfounded, and Qiao'er was frozen in place, pondering how to explain this matter to the crowd. However, the people had already surged out of the inn like a swarm, craning their necks to look at the roof, as if the entire inn had been surrounded.

Qiao'er was very confused as to why it did not go through the door, yet it carried Qiao'er to an inn in this town. Although it was called an inn, it was not a grand place. In this remote and impoverished area, having a place to rest and a meal to fill one's stomach was already quite good, and one could not afford to be picky.

As dusk fell, the green-eyed zombie quickly stuffed several pieces of cotton clothing into her arms, indicating for her to hold them tightly, and then carried her down the mountain at a swift pace

Bathing it is truly not an easy task, as it cannot sit still and is restless at every moment. Its outer garments are in tatters, and Qiao'er has torn off those fragments. It imitates Qiao'er and reaches out to pull, but it is quicker than Qiao'er and soon manages to pull everything off cleanly

Qiao Er had never seen so much money in her life, and it made her dizzy. Yet, she quickly grabbed a box and jumped out of the window.

Qiao'er kept writing on its chest, and it finally stood still and looked down at her. She struggled to clean it with a wet towel, but it was already quite impatient with the book, wanting to go outside after just circling around the room.

Then, it went downstairs, but its manner of descent was quite extraordinary—it jumped down from the upper floor with a whoosh. In front of the crowd, it did something even more astonishing: it walked to the inn's entrance, where the attendant was just about to greet it. It looked up at the roof, and without uttering a single word, it swiftly leaped onto the roof.

Although the green-eyed zombie was somewhat impatient, it merely felt that she was playing with it, and thus it endured and accompanied her. After being cleaned and dressed, it finally looked less strange, and Qiao'er let out a sigh of relief, preparing to wipe the water stains on the ground clean

The bathtub was placed behind the landscape screen, and she took off her clothes beside it. The green-eyed zombie quickly approached as well. Having spent a long time together, Qiao'er no longer cared about feeling shy and stepped into the bathtub.

Although they had been together for a period of time, Qiao'er still felt her face flush with embarrassment. Fortunately, it did not seem to mind and continued to struggle to climb out. Qiao'er could not hold onto it, and it finally managed to flip out of the bathtub

The green-eyed zombie stood on the roof, clearly feeling puzzled as well, so it jumped down with a thud, joining everyone in looking up at the roof. However, at that moment, everyone stopped looking at the roof and turned their gaze towards it instead

Spectator A: "This hero possesses remarkable lightness of foot!"

The sound of water splashing, and the bathtub had also shifted position. At that moment, the young waiter stood outside the door with a large tray of dishes. After listening for a while, he wisely decided—given the commotion, I might as well come back in half an hour! ... Unexpectedly, that young girl appeared so refined on the surface, yet privately she was so ... um ...

It curiously dipped into the water, discovering that the water was warm, and wanted to come in as well. Qiao'er became a bit anxious; the bathtub was small and could not accommodate two people. She held it back with one hand, not allowing it to enter: "Please wait for me to finish washing before you come in!"
